One Vowel Practice!

Singers. Trying singing your exercises and songs/arias on one vowel. These vowels are considered closed. For a hootier approach to your songs employ the vowel ooo as in moot (low larynx), and then move to oh as in mote. And, ee (which will have some ih (mitt) in it! (the American ee is too much - needs a slight blend of ih in it) as in meet for more twang and ring and (my favorite) ay as in May. Try your high notes (although often high notes usually stem, anchor and shift from the good set up of the note before !) on these various vowels and experiment with strengthening the cords and function with these vowels, too. Also, try to keep the tongue movement separate from the larynx. Enjoy!
